About Me:

Roseanna Cen, LICSW, she/her

I am the eldest daughter of Chinese immigrants and was born and raised in New Zealand. I moved to the United States and have lived here for the past 10 years. The migration experiences of both myself and my parents have greatly influenced my journey of exploring my cultural identities, acknowledging and honoring the trauma and resilience of the immigrant experience, and the trying process of creating a home/life away from home. This has informed my interest and passion in working with adult children of immigrants, BIPOC, third culture kids, and the Asian/Asian-American/Asian hyphenated populations.

About My Process:

My approach is first and foremost person-centered. Each individual comes to therapy with their own story and individual needs/goals. My role as the clinician is to foster a space in which clients can safely and wholly show up as themselves. Sessions are tailored to each client’s unique needs and can include solution oriented problem solving, coping skills development, emotion processing, symptom management, and/or self-exploration. I partner with clients to identify and address thought patterns and behaviors that no longer align to the life they want to live. Assisting clients in developing self-awareness and self-acceptance, is at the core of my practice.

I welcome clients who may not have a clear idea of their concerns/needs, as well as clients who may not have any acute needs and are seeking a space for personal growth and self-discovery.
